I thought this may be of interest to some of you who may need to do a partial refin, or maybe headstock repair. This is a Gibson Blueshawk I'm doing for our bro Heartfielder. The guitar had sustained water damage (flood) and the binding had separated from the rear of the body. Also, the paint was totally peeling off. Rather than strip the whole guitar and refin it, I wanted to save the original Blueshawk decal, so the idea was to repair the binding, strip the lower half, blend in the black to the original paint, and re-clear the whole body. I think the pics are self explanitory as far as the method I used, but feel free to ask questions if you're interested. I'll post a pic of the completed guitar once everything's re-assembled.
