heh.... how do i sharpie-ize my unsightly rosewood fretboard? do i have to use sharpies, or can i use some sweet mr. sketch black markers? they smell like licorice, man! and we all know that black licorice jellybeans are the most metal candy of them all!
I've dyed rosewood with stew mac's ebony stain multiple times.
Painting off and cutipping around inlays is worthless because the dye is practically water.
stain it and avoid the inlays/binding as well as you can, and clean them ith alchohol after. don't get the alchohol on the fretboard though, the stain is allergic to it.
getting it off inlays isn't tricky at all, it's the binding that kills you.
