Sperzel question

Hey dudes, I recently got my first guitar with Sperzel tuners and am kinda lost on using them. I had a tech set it up with 11's tuned down one full step and it played sick right of the bat. Since I've changed strings I've noticed more buzz and almost a full wrap around some of the posts, and I know with Sperzels you're not supposed to have a full wrap. So my question is, in your experience, what's the best way to stretch/change strings using these kind of tuners? Thanks a lot.

On locking tuners: string bridge normally, pull string in straight line thru tuner hole, lock, tune.

That said, it´s not too uncommon for the strings to have about a 3/4 wrap or so when done, esp the wound ones...
