If it was my guitar I would just drill a hole and mount it on.. I like adding stuff and pimpin the axes

Get a distortion pedal for the Star, and put it in the Les Paul. Switch to a master tone and use the spare hole to mount the switch. Don't drill holes in anything though. If you want to drill holes, get an RG

Mount it from behind on the electronics cover, you can toggle it from behind - SECRETLY!!!!

An added mini switch on the star is not likely to adversely affect it's value down the road. It is a charvel, so go ahead and hot rod it!
