My SL-1 soloist comes up a little weak in the pickup department. It has stock single coils(jacksons) and a lawrence humbucker in the back. It's a tad too bright and trebly for me.
I have JB's in a few other guitars...but might consider something else, just to see if I can obtain a different, satisfying sound. I do some clean playing as well so it'd have to be versatile(EMG's are out) along with providing good tone. ALSO: the volume knob on this guitar is FAR too easy to turn on and off. One accidental contact with it cuts the volume ridiculously. Is there a way to tighten it up without replacing the pot?
I don't think trem spacing is necessary as I have an early 80's jb in my '82 and it screams.
Thanks in advance, all feedback is welcome.
