Mid boost on Model 4

Im new to this.
First, is the boost subtle, or is mine not working right?

Is it compatable with most passive pickups?? Although, Ill prob keep the Jackson pup in it.

How long do batteries last?? Does the battery drain when plugged in or only when its on?

Cant replacements be bought? Where?

The battery will drain when the guitar is plugged in. Batteries last a long time as long as you remember to unplug when you're done. It will work with any passive pickups. I've got a Duncan Custom & Hot Rails in my Model 6 with the boost. I found that the circuit seemed to have more of an effect with the stock Jackson pickups, especially the J200 stacked hums. The effect is pretty subtle. It's only a 6dB boost, compared to up to 20dB of boost with some other active systems out there. As far as replacements, eBay (or the classifieds here on rare occasions) is about it. They aren't made anymore.

Thanks for the info!! I was thinking it was supposed to be 20db of boost like most systems. That is why I was thinking it was weak.. Now I know .
