Man, that was one of my old fav goofy songs. Thanks for the memory Scott!
I guess we showed our age on this one, huh Mark? Other guys besides Fett, are probably like wtf?

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
This trem spring rattle can be cured like this if you have enough space betwen the spring and the body : Simply cut a bit of fuel tubing or similar plastic tubing with a diameter that will fit snug over the springs, slide the tubing over the springs and youre done.
The Floyd will stay in tune and the noise is gone.

I saw the video on youtube when one guy did the exact same thing, but put the tube INSIDE the spring (ofcourse the tube had a smaller diamter).
i've used 1 piece of toilet paper with great results.
just wedged it between the springs and body. then wrapped the excess around the springs and put the cover back on.

Yeah, thats another common fix, but i thought the problem in this case was the springs comming in contact with the body in the cavity creating the noise.
The tubing inside the springs is usually used when the springs themselves make the noise.
But then again, my english sucks big time since i'm from sweden so maybe i misunderstood the whole thing.
It works much better if you don't toast the bread.
I like to swap out the green mold every month. I use it to lube the trem pivots.
Fish Heads, fish heads
Rolly poly fish heads

Eat them up, yum!
(Yum!)
or,
I'm looking over
My dead dog Rover
That I hit with my power mower!
One leg is missing, another one's gone
The rest of him is spread
All over the lawn...
I also found that my Jacksons vary in noisy springs. One is silent, the other had some definite high squeal while palm muting. I tried to put some foam rubber inside the springs, but that didn't kill the vibration...I just cut up an old mouse pad for that.
So I went high tech on it's ass....McDONALDS NAPKIN.
Fold that sucker into a shape that'll fit, then slide it under your springs. Doesn't fray, won't get caught in the springs and lets the trem do the job. And now she's dead silent. And I need more McDonalds.
