anyone else use EMG's for a long time than go back to passives?
X2N is really loud (around EMG levels), with nice tight bottom end. If you normally like EMGs, I think it would be right up your alley. Sounds like a hot strat when split.
I personally just don't like its voicing - too flat for me - I like the DD a lot better for that reason alone, even though it's much muddier in the bass register than the X2N.
I love the X2N on my guitar, its a friggn beast. I plugged it into one of my uncle's friend's JCM 800 w/ a boost, and it really pushes the amp. I also happens to be a well balanced p/u with a slight touch of treble, but it also depends on p/u height and how you eq the amp
