Neck Replacement Options

I am looking to purchase a new neck...all maple fretboard/neck. One issue I've always had with some necks are that sometimes they feel stickey in your hands when playing. Are there certain finishes I should stay away from...or are there certain finishes that this 'stickyness' does not happen to as much.

Painted or gloss finishes always feel sticky to me.
I prefer an oiled or satin finish on my necks... not sticky at all.
