Is it possible to set these up so the floyd floats like on the San Dimas Standard Series Charvels. It appears that they use two diffrent types of routs for the trem. The floyd is mounted very close to the the inside of the route and they come set up with the floyd resting on the body.Has anybody here set them up so you could pull up on the bar?

You are right about the routs. On the EVH there is little to no room in front of the sustain block to pull up even if you shimed the neck and raised the Floyd up off the body. I doubt if you could get enough pull to make it worth while whithout routing the opening a little wider.
