Here's an experiment I did. The ears were shaved off the EMG, and the pup route was cut to very close tolerances (Mojo Bodies). The EMG is press fitted with no mounting hardware.

Thanks man! Yes, that was the whole theme of that axe....clean and simple! I could have even pulled a Newc and ommited the volume control for an even cleaner look.

Pups didn't need to be modified at all. If I remember, maybe a little bit of the wood was shaved inside the wall by the screw tabs because it was a pretty tight fit... but that was originally when I first replaced the pups with a set of old passive EMG Selects.

Yes, it's a maple knob finished to match the body.
