    Guys,

    Lightly tapping the screws/slugs yields a loud click for each, so it seems that both coils are working. Last night I put the original JB back in and it sounds just fine. Reinstalled the Custom and same problem, so I don't think it's any of other wiring, even though I resoldered EVERYTHING.

      Guys,

      Problem solved. Got some help from Duncan's tech support, turns out BOTH pickups were wired wrong at the factory! After swapping the black and red leads, all is well. The Custom TOTALLY kicks ass!
