This topic has come up a hundred times. No fault to you I might add. Some of the search functions do not pick up everything. One of your fellow Canadians was looking for a dye a while back. Stew Mac sells the Feiblings (sp) black oil dye as their ebony colored dye. You can find it in leather shops or saddle and tack shops. If you have white binding just be careful with it and wipe it off straight away. It will not dye the frets however. Use a Q-tip and make sure to use it in an area where you don't want any black spots ie; on your floor or carpet.
