Took a volume pot out of an Ibanez. Had a small capacitor between 2 of the prongs. Has " B334 " on it. What did this do ?

Re: Volume pot
CAPACITOR'S are used to roll off or reduce the high treble frequencies.
Larger capacitor values are used on hotter pups etc.
From the value of the capacitor, you probably had a pretty hot HB in there...
Capacitors are often added to control circuitry to affect the tone of the guitar. A capacitor is used to "rolloff"
or “reduce” the high (treble) frequencies.
Capacitors are usually soldered on the
potentiometer to form a tone circuit, and can also be used with resistors to change to effective resistance of
the control potentiometer.
Addiutionally, The also stop 'bleedthru' sound from coming out your amp when the guitar volume is trimmed off...
