Finish Worming...

What exactly is "Finish Worming"? I see people refer to this alot in auctio descriptions.
Thanks for anyone willing to clarify this for me!

For example, the rivet of your jeans rubbing long shallow grooves into the finish but not really scratching. It looks more like a worm moved through it. Make sense? Hope that helps,

Finish worming = minor belt rash but not thru finish.
