I just bought a Charvel 550xl from ebay and I am setting it up. Well I have taken it all apart to fix it up and properly set the floating trem, well I can't find any place for a battery to go? has someone removed the active preamp wiring from this guitar? Is this advisable? also I think I perfer a more balanced sound sonically (although I have yet to hear this guitar plugged in) than a hot rodded jackson PU, I am thinking about replacing pick ups are EMG's pretty much the standard replacements? what about lace sensors? and that lawson guy pu's are whatever his name is? any feedback much appreciated
