I run a Peavey Rockmaster > TCE G-Major > VHT 2902. There are times I need to be extra quiet and so I'd like to run a DI box and not sacrifice too much tone. What should I look into that I can plug into my rig and not color my sound (except for cabinet emulation)?
I saw the Behringer GI100 and it looked promising but it sounds like it requires you to be cranked to get the poweramp tubes glowing. That defeats my goal of playing at a low growl. Sansamp adds amp models too. I don't think that's gonna work running my Rockmaster pre on top of a modeled amp's pre. I predict noise and a mess. Suggestions?
