I have a TB-4 at the bridge and it's wired without a tone control. Is there a capacitor that I can add to increase the treble end of the sound?

A TB4 is a JB, isn't it? Those pups are usually more treble and high mids. I don't see how it can get muddy, especially with no tone control.

Yeah, muddiness shouldn't be a problem here, try changing the settings on your amp. Back off on the bass, boost the mids and treble a bit. Maybe back the gain off as well.

How's your action on the guitar? If the strings are higher off the fret board, this can also create a muddy sound. What type of distortion pedal do you use if any?
