I've got an original Charvel (ca. 1992) 12-string Surfcaster. The neck has a little too much relief for my ideal setup. It's at about .016" now. I'd like to pull it down to .010" or so. I've already given the truss rod 1/2 turn. I'm a little reluctant to keep cranking on it (1/2 turn is usually a lot) unless I know I can get where I want to go. If you have a 12-string, how is your relief set?
Second, the outside saddles are flush with the bridge, but the action is still a little high (low E 5/64" @ 12th fret). The nut is fine. Has anyone had to shim their neck to fix a similar problem?
Any other suggestions or tips?
Thanks.
