Is that so? Well, I guess he should know... I haven´t spent any serious time with a OFR manufactured after 2000, so I guess things might have gone downhill since then?

The Gotohs are nice trems, I have one and it works every bit as good as an OFR. I like the push in arm with the adjustable tension better than the OFR setup.

Btw, highly agreed on the ZR trem! It's the only non-OFR trem that made me really really impressed - almost envious. I would really like to get one for my project guitar...
I was just looking on the Hoshino web site and you can order a ZR trem as a replacement part from an Ibanez dealer.
        Do a parts search.
Here is the part number for a Chrome ZR 7 string trem 2ZRT1RN7K2.
        Black 2ZRT1RNB2
        Antique Nickel 2ZRT1RNA2
And of course Cosmo Black 2ZRT1RNK2

Here's the part number for one with a D-Tuner built in 2ZRT1RNK2D

Very pricey though. I was watching a couple on ebay, and they all sold for around $150 used.

Here's one that recently ended. No whammy, no nut, posts, etc, and still sold for $130.

          http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...6414&rd=1&rd=1

Probably costs a lot more than an original floyd brand new.

I was thinking about it because I have an older edge on my jem, and love it. But it would probably look too weird and high tech ...... on my model 6. lol

That auction was for an Edge Pro. Completely different trem. Still a very good one though and worth every penny.

I have yet to see a ZR for sale anywhere.
I'm still waiting to hear back from my local Ibanez dealer on what it will cost to order one. He didn't have the current parts price sheet yet.
I got to play a Prestige that had one and it was very different.
Has the feel of a Floyd, but the smoothness of a Kahler.

I agree. Gotta give Ibanez credit for being innovative, and coming out with new designs. While everyone else just uses or copies the original. Maybe when the patent runs out, we'll finally see some competition.

That’s why I’m going with the Gotoh, it sort of resembles the older generation Edge on my jem.

I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

$280 for a Cosmo Black with the D tune feature... not bad.
                  Cheaper than I expected.

Came in the mail, when I got home from work today.

Thought I post some shots, because there aren't thats many pics of the Gotoh floyd on the net.

Built quality is awesome .... edges, corners, feels, etc. Heavy as hell. Looks like a first generation edge. I'm gonna drop it in once my pickups arrive and are installed.

Never owned one. I think the pro is a low profile, so no?

The only place I was able to find them, was ebay.
