My apologies if there's already a big thread on this (my search did not reveal one) but in my continuing quest to improve my playing, I'm taking a fresh look at some of the basics, e.g., strings, and I thought I'd look to the collective wisdom of the JCF for info.
So, strings. What brand do you use? Have you found any strings that made a major difference in your sound or your guitar's playability?
Being cheap, I've always used Boomers (XLs) at $3.99/set. I'd like to try some others, like DR "handmade" strings, Elixirs, etc., but like I mentioned above, I'm cheap. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
Plus, I don't want to mess with my guitars' setups for no good reason.
Opinions, anyone?
