Well, to get you started into the roughing, you're easily going to need:
Obviously the tools you've mentioned, saws, etc.
-an accurate square
-accurate scale (metal ruler with graduations in at least 64ths of an inch) at least 24". A nice tape measure will work but is quite a pain in the ass to work with.
-Straight edges in multiple lengths, 6" to at least 24")
-Sanding boards/blocks for leveling (short 4" are nice and you should have at least a 12" as well, you can make these and check for straightness using your straight edge)
-a good set of brad point drill bits or Forstner bits.
-straight blade spoke shave for carving.
-variety of files, mill bastard, rasps for roughing out.
-templates for pickups, cavities, etc.....
- you'll also need to know immediately what hardware you're going to use because there is so much out there, the sizes of hardware varies all over the place. Give this a lot of though because once you strat cutting holes and cavities, you don't want to have to go back and fix them..
here is a Pm budman sent me, there a few other things but you can get the idea."slappy, slappy" bill sings, happily, as he dick slaps random people on the streets of Cleveland.
