setting up a schaller trem /charvel 475

I am treating my guitar to a new set of strings, However at the moment when I check the tuning at the 12th fret it is out of tune does anybody know where I can get the correct info /technique for setting up the trem / intonation correctly. the easy answer I know would be to get a pro set up but i dont want to do this has I am probably too tight parting with money and I would like to expand my knowledge thanks to all in advance
