I have an 80 pre-pro with a huge D shape 1 3/4 nut. Altough the more common shape is a thin/wide C shape. But anything was possible back then, I also had a 1981 (HB) neck 1 5/8 nut and a somewhat fendery back shape to the neck; These were refered to as: G1- 1 3/4 nut, wide, flat
G2- 1 5/8 nut, boat or "V"
G3- 1 5/8 nut, early 60's shape. This ia taken from a 6/1/81 retail price list. Price of a maple strat neck was $200. Rosewood $210. Ebony $250
Oil finish option was $40.00 and Laquer $120
They made these necks: Strat
