Pau Ferro. Depends on the guitar, though. They're all cool, and ebony or maple sometimes work better depending on specs. But, if I could only live with one, it'd be pau ferro hands down.

back then when I had only one guitar (with a brazilian rosewood fingerboard) I was dying to get one with an ebony fingerboard. now I have plenty but the one I play the most is my first guitar

for a burst les paul : chocolate dark rosewood
for any solid colored guitar : ebony
for a blue transparent finished figured maple top guitar : maple
