Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
If I have a JE-1200 mid-boost circuit in my Model 6 will it still work if I do Hot Rails (neck) Cool Rails (middle) and Screamin' Demon (Bridge)?
If so, will it make them sound better too?
Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
Yes, it will work with any passive pups, but Kevin Easton mentioned one time that it sounds better with the Jackson pickups. You can try it and see if it sounds good to you.

Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
I just bought this JE1200 off a fellow JCFer and haven't installed it yet. My stock pups sound like shit and if this doesn't help I was gonna go with the setup I posted above. I was just wondering if I do that setup, if I should bother trying the Mid-boost with it or just say fuck it!
Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
I really liked the circuit in my old Model 6, but it had the stock pups. I had asked Kevin the question one time and he said they were made mainly for the Jackson pups, but you might as well try it and see for yourself; it couldn't hurt.

Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
Well my buddy is worried about getting a soldering mess! He said I should put the new pups in at the same time as the mid-boost. I don't want have to buy new pups and then find out the mid boost makes them sound like shit or something.
Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
If I can't get it to do what I want it to, I'll sell it to you for the same price I paid, $25! But I don't know when my friend is going to get around to doing this!
Re: Will my mid-boost circuit still work with Duncans?
I left the mid-boost in my 650 when I installed the Hot Rails/Cool Rails/Distortion. The guitar sounds killer, but I don't know if it would sound better with the mid-boost out or not. If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.
