Before you buy a neck.... Is the body you bought a Jackson or Charvel? If it is the neck pocket will take a 2-1/4" heel. Warmoth necks are 2-3/16" wide at the heel. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you need to know what type of heel you need on your neck for a proper fit unless you want mod the neck or body. Other things of importance are scale and number of frets. for example that Jackson 24 fret neck will not intonate properly if the body was built for a 22 fret neck. There is more to building a guitar than just picking a neck and a body and bolting them together.

OK, I couldn't see the pics of it from work as we block various images hosts....dude, that paint job is killer. May need to re-think my previous comments."Some days you're the dog, other days you're the hydrant." - on the back of the business card for Bella the Pomeranian

slash, thanks for the offer. Here are the specs for the body as listed on ebay:
Make: 2005 Jackson
Model: DXMGT, will take any 24 fret Jackson neck, including DXMG, DK-2, Kelly, etc.
Color: Tobacco Sunburst
Wood: Solid Alder with a Killer Flame MapleTop
Scale Length: 25.5"
Number of Frets: 24
Neck Pocket Width: 2 1/4"
Country of Manufacture: Japan
Body Route: Awesome Hum/Hum with rear control cavity
Bridge: String through body with Tune-O-Matic bridge, included.
I should remeasure it before I make any other purchases for it. I would love to have more info about that retrofitting nut, cause the neck off a DK2M is what I want to put on it.

Oh, and here is a better representation of what I envision the new paint to be like if I do indeed paint it:
This is from Warmoth. Obviously it is on a quilt top, and mine is a flame top, but this is what I would change it to. This is a black cherry sunburst. I don't know if I would do a burst, or just a straight black cherry.
I like the darker area around the edge for the whole thing if I do change it.1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom

Got the body in today. It looks really good. Just one minor ding that you have to look for to see (as described).
I don't know if I am going to change the color or not. It looks better in person than I thought it would, and my wife likes it as is.
Also, I don't know how thick the layer of flame maple is. I don't know if it a vaneer, or if it is 1/8" thick. I don't want to screw up the wood if it is a vaneer.
Anybody know how thick the top layer is on a DXMG?1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom
