  • How bad were the late 80's Steinberger tremolo units?

Just "pain in the ass" bad or "avoid at all costs" kind of bad?

I see a fair amount of Gibsons with the KB-X on them and they don't seem to be too popular or sought after.

I had a Hohner (?) I think that had one. The F'ing guitar was stolen before I got to find out how bad the trem might have been.

I have never played one, but remember hearing good thing about them.

Hmmm, nothing about the KB-X. They did a few SG's from '85-89 with them on them... I guess its a late 80's relic.

What about the trans-trems? They seemed like a cool idea, do they work or are they a pain-in-the-ass?

Or an avoid at all costs?
