  • Swirl paint job. How to?

I'll have a pic up later. Photobucket is down for awhile. I bought a lab centrfuge. I think it will work well. Has anybody done this type of paint job?

We have a centifuge at work and it is sooo fast.

fett, PLEASE don't put anything on it that could escape, lol! :ROTF:

You will have a hole in the side of your house and you will have to get whatever flew-out from the back of your neighbor's car that was parking under your window!

This has a 12 turntable and the speed is adjustable. It adjusts the angle of attack. When I can get a pic up, you will see.

I can take all those clips off and build a platform. I will use Velcro strips to hold the body in place? Then I will try a dry spin. I will remember to stand way out of the way.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: The speed control goes to 11.:ROTF: For $25, I have a cheap play toy.:ROTF:

I think it's that big hole in the middle of the guitar body to fit on the spindle that's going to be a tough one. You could always put a sticker over that though.

I have a body that is down to primer. I will "fill" all the holes so if and when I decide to try this, I should get an uninteruputed (sp) flow.:ROTF: This will be fun. I think.

I was thinking of trying a swirl paint job on an old Hohner that I have, should be interesting to see how it turns out

A centrfuge? Wouldn't that be more of a spin art finish instead of swirl???

Didn't Fender try that spin art thing with horrible results???

Real swirls are quite challenging to do. Do right, that is...

Can't wait to see pics of this one...

Yeah, I guess it would be "Spin"
