• Seymour Duncan without logo decal

    Hi.

The pickup I am bidding on has no decay. The seller claims that years and playing have done this.

How can I check if the pickup is really original SD? The codename (SHR-1) is writte correctly, but it can be tricky.

    Thanks!

the older duncans didn't have logos on the bobbins. it's kind of desired. you can ask for a pic of the back of the pickup, as the duncan logo should be stamped in it.

He claims that it's original SD, but he doesn't have any picture of the back side.

I think I'll risk and take it... It looks like HR really.

The Scorcher has a white logo which says 'Duncan designed'

I take it the Scorcher sucks? It's funny, Guitar Center was having their Memorial Day sale and they had 4 Scorchers listed in their sale list as a "limited edition specially designed pickup-set of three-39.99" It turned out they were selling them each at 40.00 and laying the "I think that they orginally were 240.00 for the set, so now 40.00/pup" line at the counter. Some guy in front of me bought 3 of the 4 available but he thought the same as me.. 3 for 40.00. He still bought them as he turned and said " those ought to be great for a custom strat" I didn't say anything, just nodded and asked to see the last one available.

Looking at it, I had my doubts given it said 'duncan designed'.. even tho it was a rail, and I wanted a rail.. I didn't buy the marketing scam GC seemed to be pulling with the wording on the tag..so I passed on the last one. Now I am really grateful I did. They seem to be going cheap.

Speaking about Scorchers, I've tried one RX10D and it sounded pretty nice with them.

And yes, I want original SD.
