refinishing neck thru body guitars

those are theoretical questions :
1.)
if i would add binding ( neck / headstock ) to a neck thru body guitar how much would i have to paint again - the logo on imports is painted right ? so won't it dissapear ?
2.) same goes to refinishing (new paint ) - do i have to refinish the top of a headstock then ?

just asking , i'm kinda noob when it comes to such things.

You would need to cover the logo and whatever else you did NOT want to paint over with painter's masking tape (the blue stuff, not the standard masking tape as it leaves glue)
