Got this in parts, needed neck repair. How do I buff out the glue line? Or can I? Not trying to hide it, I just want it to look a little better before I clearcoat it.
You have to clear the whole neck down to wood. Get the old stuff gone. And that includes the headstock. You will never be able to match it. As for the fix. Just let it be. Just get it smooth. Save the print. Here's an idea. Dab a bit of oil on the print. Just enough to cover it. Then after you have clearcoated it, let me know how it turned out.:ROTF: I may have to try that.
Thanks, fett. I plan on doing everything but the face of the headstock. Vaseline works. I just was wondering if I could get that glue line blended. The joint is smooth, there was just one very small breakout directly in the center.
Edit:
Huh, I sanded away some paint in the trem cavity. It looks like it's mahogany. Cool.
