  • JT-590 Where do you get one? Help

Not really a technical question, but I can't seem to find where I can buy a JT-590 to replace my JT-6. Googled and found nothing for sale, nothing on Ebay!?!?!

How do I get my hands on one of these??

The JT-590 is a Schaller, so that's what you'll want.

I see, makes sense now. Thanks

I have a chrome JT-6 on a '89 Charvel 275 Deluxe. I want to replace it with a black tremolo bridge. My issue, I think, is the nut, which is chrome, too. I want to replace it with a black one. The Schaller Floyd Rose's look like the nut is held in position by screws through the back of the neck, ala Kramer neck. How can I swap the nut?

Swapping nuts is always a PITA. Not because you can't just find the correct width, but you also need the correct height as well, or your strings will be too low over the first fret (a shim needed) or too high (need to grind down the nut or something). I'm pretty sure you could get the screws of your current nut to go through the Schaller bolt holes, but I'd try to score and OFR on ebay before spending twice as much for one at stew-mac. You'll end up doubling the cost of your guitar in one upgrade.

Most Floyd type nuts can be mounted from the top with small screws, or from the back with the two big bolts (which I do not like - IMHO it weakens the neck! Have seen too many necks cracked where these bolts are!)

Way too much for a licensed...even if it is a Schaller.

Here you get a real OFR for $180...

Well, I didn't tell him he had to buy it from there.

I appreciate the answers. I have a hard time paying retail for guitar parts. I am hoping to find a used guitar in a pawnshop with a Floyd, for the price of a Floyd. I have had good luck in the past, just wish I didn't sell the one's I could use now.
