Oiling the Trussrod?

The truss rod nut on my DKMG has enough Friction that it cannot move without some amount of force applied to it .
the truss rod is working fine , but some Seizure issue with the nut ..
my DKMG is 2005 Model and i bought a New one , so its been sitting around that shop for too long ..

Can i apply some Motor Oil or Thin oil to the Truss rod, to get more control and decrease future seizure issues ??
