Pot values: The lower the value - say 250k - the more the treble is choked off. Correct?
The reason I ask is, my model 3a is really dark sounding tonewise. I can't make out the vol pot #s. It says (I think) M500k and under that 75k. Tone pot says the same and has a 1h223k cap.
Is it correct to assume it's a 500k volume pot? If so, would a 1000k pot help? And what is the lower number (75k) for?
Sorry for asking such a noob question. I've never dealt with pots before. But I want to lose some of the muddiness without changing the pups, which are j90. I'd like to keep it stock as much as possible.
Thanks
