Fretboard Problem !! Linseed Oil??

yesterday i cleaned up my dirty DKMG fretboard with Warm Water
( i read in the threads )..
there was so much gunk between the frets and the wood
but after drying its has coverd with white layer ?? its a rosewood

do i need to apply some oil ??
Linseed Oil Perhaps! ??

What is the Proper Application ?
How much Linseed oil do i need to apply to coat the fretboard finish?
do i need to apply some timely coats of oil , or just put some amount of it and wipe it out ??? and let it dry

dose linseed Oil darkens the Fretboard??

I wouldn't put Linseed Oil on a rosewood board...it has natural oils already. Just get the gunk/funk off as best you can and buff it out with a soft cotton cloth (diapers work great).

The only thing I use linseed oil on is my ebony boarded guitars.

Once you know the fretboard is completely dry try some bore or key oil on it. That's what I use when cleaning & it works great and keeps the board from drying out.

You should never clean your fretboard with water.
It makes the wood swell and can cause the frets to lift.
That white shit is most likely calcium deposits from the water.
Rosewood cleans up nicely with lemon oil and a little elbow grease. Anything else is just overkill.

I disagree. It could be oil that was on the board that became emulsified with the water.

Naptha for cleaning, then Fret Doctor for oiling. Lemon oil in a pinch. Gibson's fretboard conditioner works well. The best on the planet IMO is Fret Doctor! http://www.beafifer.com/boredoctor.htm I finally found this bore oil after 43 years of playing and I'll use nothing else ever again!

Can't comment on the naptha, but agreed on the lemon oil and Gibson fretboard conditioner. You can find the Gibson product in most music stores and it works fine.

Linseed oil used sparingly also works well, even though some people don't like the smell. Rosewood needs to be treated as well as ebony. I would suggest a little 0000 steel wool to clean up the board and frets, and then oil it.

I have heard so many good things about Fret Doctor that I'm going to try it myself.

i will apply a Dubble Boiled Linseed Oil today , after scraping the gunk out of the frets , can i use a Thiner to clean frets???
