Re-wiring a 4x12 to stereo?

So, after thinking much about saving up to buy 2 2x12 cabs to run my vetta in stereo, I have decided I just cant spend the dough for a while on something worth spending the money on. Therefore, I was thinking about re-wiring my B52 412AT to accept 2 inputs, one for left and one for right. I realize that the full separation will be compromised, but for anyone who has played stereo thru a stereo cab, can you give me an idea of what to expect sonically?

Also, anyone who could mebbe slide me a few hints on the wiring would be a god among men

I have a gig coming up in 2weeks and would like to do this asap so I can set up my stereo sound for that show. Thanks in advance guys.
