Good tech books for Jacksons etc?

I just got "How to make your electric guitar play great", by some guy, (I forget his name) and it's a handy book, but it really doesn't cover things like Jacksons. There's some brief mention of Ibanez's but it's mainly concerned with Strats and Les Pauls.

I'd quite like something simple, for beginners, that goes into more detail about setups, repairs, pickup adjustments/wiring etc etc, especially with Jacksons.

and a good read also.

If you want a good one, get Total Guitar. ITs a big book, but has TONES of in depth information about Guitars, Amps, Effects, and working on Guitars (the basics anyway). Very good book. The best part is it also has a nice section on the basics of playing different styles, and then a lovely list (1/3rd of the book) on manufacturers with paragraphs of information and some great pictures.

That's the guy that wrote the book I mentioned. The one you said is probably very similar to what I have. It WILL come in handy when I need to sort out my lovely Epi Black Beauty, I just want something that goes more into depth on FLoyd style trems and such.

CR, who wrote that book you said? I did a search on AMazon and there are a few called that.

Besides Totally Guitar, nope. And yeah, it is expensive but its a worth while book.

Although I haven't looked at the book you own, I have used my Earlwine
Guitar Player's book many times. And it does have an extensive section on v-trems, floyds, and Kahlers.
I've worked on many,many guitars through the years, and there is nothing so different about Jacksons/Charvels than Kramers, Deans, Gibsons, Fenders, you name it. They generally have good workmanship and design, but really nothing any different from the guitars that Dan describes in his book.
I highly recommend it, and for any specific questions on setting up or repairing a Jackson, the best resource is right here, at the JCF.
