Guitar Squeal

Hey Boys,

I have a Jackson RR EX Pro. For some reason, I have this deafening high pitched squeal whenever I have my amp turned up. Whenever I touch the strings or any metal part of the guitar, it stops. I thought it was a grounding issue but everything looks solid when I opened it up. The guitar just started doing this last week.

I did check this post ( http://www.jcfonline.com/forums/show...=guitar+squeal ) so I do know how to use the "Search" function, there just wasn't an answer at the end.

Anyone else have this issue or know what it might possibly be?

I'm having the exact same problems with my RR3. I touch my strings and it stops.

Feedback??? Move further away from the amp.

Without more info..sounds like feedback to me too. Try moving away from the amp, or turning your back to it, etc.

I'm pretty far away from my amp. It's has to be a grounding issue but it's pretty well grounded.

Microphonic pickup perhaps?

Try a new cord or one you know is good. Sounds like broken sheilding to me. Take a new cord straight from your guitar to your amp see if it still squeals. Then one by one add the rest of your chain in till you find the culprit.

I wish it was feedback but it's not. It doesn't matter how far back I go and this is much different than feedback.

When I use my other RR, no problems. Like I said, when I touch any metal on the guitar it stops. I'm still thinking a grounding issue.

I am going to take it in today to get fixed. When I find the answer, I will post it here so we can finally put this issue to rest.

Since I can't take it in till 1:30pm today, I brought my guitar to work. This pleases me......

I had that happening to me too. I resoldered everything and it went away. I think the connection to the volume pot was bad.
