I spent an hour putting new pots in that BC Rich I just got. I had some Gibson pots and I decided to give it a go. Soldering, even with one eye, went fine. I wanted 1 vol-1 tone. I ended up with 2 vols.:ROTF: I'll figure this out. Considering this is a one Hum guitar, I'm about ready to bag the tone.:ROTF: And another thing. I didn't use cloth wires on the Mod 1. But the hum on this has open web ground wire and cloth. Stripping old cloth wire is a gigantic pain in the ass.

I know that site. I did my "Search" I'm just a rookie with this shit. I thought I had it all figured out. So, after I wired it up I get a big hum. That turned out to be a bad amp cord. Once I figured that out, the guitar sounded fine. I'm going to leave the tone pot there and bypass it. The Bitch has enough filled in holes.:ROTF: It's just like all those shows about restoring cars. They forget to tell you how many times the first shot didn't work.:ROTF: They get it all done right the first time. Bets?:ROTF:I am a true ass set to this board.

The cap goes between the third lug and ground.
It essentially "grounds out" the signal, through the cap.
As far as actually knowing what I'm doing with guitar electronics, I do it so infrequently
that I have to go through the wiring like a brand new puzzle. I'm more intuitive with tube amps.

When I teach the noobs on trouble shooting electricity on aircraft. Think as electricity like you a hydraulic system. Pretty much what you have in a hydraulic system you will have in a electric system..
