1992 Sl1

I am interested in purchasing this used 1992 white/creme sl1 that is local to me. I love the guitar, but the problem is the sharkfin inlays seem to be a different level than the fretboard. it feels like they are maybe sticking out a little bit? is this common for older guitars or is it a sign of something else. I really want the guitar but this is driving me away from it it's kind of annoying to the touch.

I've only seen that on really old guitars, where the fingerboard was not properly oiled.
Perhaps too much oil (wrong kind)...or a bone dry fingerboard shrinking away from the inlays.

the guitar is otherwise mint, at $750. what is your suggestion? can this be fixed and if so at what cost?

Price is good. I have a 1992 RR1 in white. No issues with the inlays.

As far as if it can be fixed and at what cost, I think you need to take it to a repair shop and get a quote, if the seller will let you.

oil the board and see if that helps over time, or worst case scenario, you can scrape the inlays.
