Can this be done easily? A friend of mine is considering buying a guitar with a v trem, but wants a fixed bridge. He would prefer to change convert the bridge rather than locking the trem down.
What say you?

I did this to one of those plywood First Act guitars that were sold at Wal-Mart. The first ones that looked like an LP-Jr. doublecut. Involved cutting pieces of wood the size of the holes in the front and back, shaping them up, planing them down, gluing them in. A lot of work, and I didn't even bother trying to fix the paint.
Just block the trem.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking
Oh, I agree about blocking the trem, and told him that was the way to go, but he wants a hardtail.
Thanks for the link, toejam. That is exactly what he wants.
