DiMarzio Norton. Had them in two Model 3a's and they both sounded great. The lows were tight with plenty of mids, and the highs sounder great. Not tinny or the "ice pick to the back of the skull" highs.
DiMarzio Breed Perfect in a basswood guitar. A very balanced pickup with lows, mids and just enough high's to cut it! I have them in 3 guitars right now.

I haven´t had a basswood guitar for years, but I seem to remember that I liked a Screamin´Demon in the last one I had. It helped roll back the typical basswood mids and gave it a bit more edge and cut.
