FCC and Wireless, how does this effect us?

I have a wireless system that I was thinking about to replace. As I was doing some of my research, I found some information about how the FCC is going to recall a bunch of the ranges meaning that some of the wireless systems out there will be illegal to use since they broadcast at the same frequency. Does anyone here know much about this and the real effect on guitar wireless systems. I looked at the X2 wireless system and it looks like it broadcasts at frequencies outside of the FCC range.

If you're referring to the wireless spectrum that is currently occupied by TV broadcasts which is being reassigned next February, then this shouldn't affect any consumer wireless devices, as they are all well above that frequency range (>900MHz).

The X2 will be unaffected. You will be happy with it once you get one. I have had mine for a few weeks now and am very happy. I didn't like any wireless before this.

I was looking at the EW172 and their ranges are in the 600-700MHz which are the ones going to be effected from what I understand.

SHIT! Apparently 700mhz is going to be going away..I do believe that's the frequency my Sennheiser Freeport operates on. They're still selling them @ Musician's Friend, on sale for $149....Wonder if they'll be illegal/fraught with interference come Feb next year?

Apparently anything that operated in the bands that are being repurposed next year was illegal to use anyway, unless you had an FCC license to broadcast on it.

The X2 looks like it operates at the 902 MHz to 928 MHz frequencies so I think this one should be safe. I was finding some real good deals on new EW172 and now I know why.
