Umm, no, I usually just block them
And does your Marlin trem have 6 screws like this one? Have you compared the measurements in the auction to yours?
If they line up, then it should be good.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

I'd rather go for the standard, vintage type Fender trem anyway on this guitar, just for the look of it.
I think I'll just buy the fucker and see if I can fit it.
Can someone please tell me though:
Do these trems just attach to the body by screwing them onto it? There's nothing fancy about it? Just screw in the 6 self tappers and that's it?

Use pilot drill holes, and a drill press!!
Check your intonation line on the original using the hi E as reference, and use masking tape to draw a pivot line(for the screws) ahead of the intonation line. If you use a bit the same size as the holes in the trem to countersink, and use the new trem as a template, you can find the centers easier, and save the finish.ONLY DO A SHALLOW COUNTERSINK!, then use the pilot drill..(same size as the wire inside the threads of the screw.)These hole must line up, and be drilled at the same angle!
Check the block position before you drill as well...just to be sure it's square!
