After reading another thread about down tuning, and thick string guages, I started to look into he whole subject of downtuning and stuff like that.
I have a few questions about Baritone guitars:
1.) What is the reasoning behind them?
2.) Are they basically a long scale guitar, that is more suitable for thick string guages, and tuning down?
3.) What are they normally tuned at?
4.) Are they just an alternative to owning a 7 string guitar?
5.) What is the scale length of the baritones?
6.) And finally, Jackson has never made one, correct?
Sorry for all of the questions guys, but I really don't know much about them. I've never owned one, and never been around one in person. Do any of you guys own a baritone? (here's another question..)
7.) How would you say they compare to either a down tuned 6 string (25.5"), or a 7 string in terms of feel and sound?
Thanks alot guys!
