Hehe. I guess I won't even bother doing the swap. The 60 is probably the ultimate neck pickup, though! And I love my 85 in the bridge.

No worries...i had to re-EQ and adjust gain when I put it in. Anyone want to buy an EMG 60 or two

Try it in another guitar before you give up.
I usually use '81's but after reading Toejam's constant preaching about the '85 I decided to give that a shot. Actully JDR, I got that one from you.

Anyway, the '85 sounded like shit in everything except for my KV3.

I put it in there w/ the 18v mod and it's the real deal no shit!
It sounds so fuggin awesome in that guitar for some reason, and I see why Joe likes it so much. It will be staying in the KV3 for a long time.
I cant remember but I think the KV3 has a Maple body w/ Poplar wings, or vice versa???

The '85 didnt sound good in my Alder strat style bodied guitars at all. Atleast to me.

So, before you write it off try another guitar, cause it may surprise you.
        Good luck Dan!

emg60 sucks in the bridge. simply not enough output and not crunchy enough. it's just a stacked single coil in humbucking housing, so imagine that in the bridge of your metal guitar.
