How to fake blood drip?

I've got this cheapo black strat that I'd like to try out some blood drip patterns on. Any ideas on what to use for blood (other than REAL blood, but that sounds too "satanic" for me..

Testors model car paint in the little bottles. Thin it with paint thinner and pour it onto the edge of the body and allow gravity to take over.

Try it out on something else first to get the consistency of the pain mixed well.
Too thick and it won't run very good and too thin it might run or drip too fast for you to control it.

Actually the Testors model car paint would probably be ok by itself.

Remember to use enamel thinner if the paint is enamel, and laquer for laquer paint.
