My bet would be he just doesn't like the pickup, so wants a refund. "Try before you buy" is easy on ebay these days.

hey Rich, I was trying to figure out just exactly what the hell "PAF" pickups are (patent Applied For) and stumbled on to "this" the guy probably didn't have the right meter. Find someone who has a meter that will measure DC resistance in kilohms and I bet you will find your pickup is fine.

No. I can live with negative feedback from one person that will be wiped clean in less than 6 months and keep my integrity.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

What he knows about pickups, though, is anyone's guess.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Sorry, I didn't particularly mean this guy - I jsut meant when you said you put "all sales are final", I would rather give someone a refund than have negative feedback, if I believed they were genuinely not happy with the item I'd sold them.
BTW What do you mean the negative feedback would be wiped clean in 6 months? I thought feedback was permanent.

Sorry, 12 months, not 6. My bad.
It was permanent until recently. I had one negative from a sale I backed out of a couple of years ago (a videocamera in the UK I wanted, but could not get clear info as to whether the charger would work in the US, so I bailed - turned out that the charger was self-switching for voltage, and the camera was also selectable between PAL and NTSC). My feedback was 98 or 96% because of that.
Now when I look at my Feedback, it shows 100%, and says on my feedback page that it's based on the last 12 months.
Without the "all sales final" clause, you will get people doing the "try before you buy" routine. Since sellers cannot leave negative feedback to warn other sellers of these frauds, sellers have to take their own precautions and specify All Sales Final/Sold As-Is.
Before long, we're going to have to write Disclaimers.
As a matter of fact, before there's a need for it, I'll write one and start using it.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

However - it could be a lot worse. He could have broke it himself in fitting it. At least you can resell it.
