Finishing Advice on doing a "nudie mag guitar"

I will mention that to my friend thats going to spray the clear coat on it. sounds like a good idea to me.

one thing that i'm not sure of is that if he's using automotive clear, super light dust coats may not blend together as well. it's not like lacquer, where the layers melt into each other. i'm sure he'll make it work, tho.

I am interested to see if it works. as I said, its an old junker guitar, so if it goes bad, its not a big loss.

i did this once, i used double stick carpet tape, layed it on the back of the images, and then cut them out, basically makes a sticker out of them.
Applied the images, and then brushed diamond coat urethane over them, of course they were not under the clear coat of the body of the guitar this way, but they stayed on and very durable, later i was able to take them off without harming the finish of the guitar, but your not worried about that.
the only issue with doing a clear coat over that is that the tape is thicker than just some kind of glue, so it might be hard to get a smooth finish.

I wanna do a "nudie mag" finish on it where I clip a bunch of pics of hottie women out of skin mags and somehow glue them to the guitar and finish over it.
